Registering To Vote

1. Register

In Penang, you can register at any post office or in KOMTAR:

Remember to bring your IC AND your driving license if you have one! You will be asked to submit your IC in return for a temporary pass, and you will need your driving license or other identity cards for security checks on the way to the Election Commission office.

2. Check your registration status after 5 months

You can check your registration status with these methods:

• Electoral Roll Checking Website
• Election Commission Headquarters, Putrajaya (Tel: 03 8885 6666)
• State Elections Offices
• Mobile Registration Units

3. Wait for Election Day!

According to the Election Commission offices, Malaysians abroad must return to Malaysia to vote at the appropriate voting ballot location.
