The Star paper titled a story as `boycot Malay daily' which is rather misleading. Boycotting Utusan Melaysia is not equivalent to boycotting `Malay' daily-by enlarging the target of boycott the Star is painting a misleading and possibly racial picture to the boycott targetting Utusan Melaysia. As a paper the Star should watch out for such dangers of misreporting. Utusan Malaysia's racial reporting certainly does not represent the Malay community's diverse views. The Star should make a correction to this significant mistake.

The arrest of Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Sin Chew Daily News reporter Tan Hoon Cheng, and DAP's Teresa Kok under Section 73(1) of the Malaysia's Internal Security Act is nothing but a despicable, haphazard, and cowardly measure on the part of the BN to intimidate the opposition and silence dissent.
It is a last-miniute, terribly ill-conceived, fumbling, desperate measure by Malaysia's ruling party to hang on to power which is fast slipping away from their weakening grip.

Defacto law minister Zaid Ibrahim has tendered his resignation letter to the -signifying the fall of a possible 1st domino which may lead to the fall of the PM-ship of badawi or the entire UMNO-led Federal Government. His reason was his objection to the use/abuse of ISA against civilians and his Cabinet colleague's cool reception to his stand. While his resignation will not count towards the 30 MPs needed for change of government (Zaid is not an MP) certainly it has exerted huge pressure on the PM & UMNO's hold of power on the Federal Govt. There are 2 dynamics here trying to reach the final line: the push to oust the PM -and also the push to oust the entire UMNO-led Federal government. Who will be faster?

'My 18 hours under the ISA'
By TAN HOON CHENG
On 12 September, about eight thirty in the evening, I was at my home in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. While enjoying my yew char koay (fried dough stick), I was worried about the show cause letter issued to Sin Chew Daily, and anxious about the days ahead for my newspaper.
Suddenly, a group of plain cloth police officers appeared at my front gate. The person who started to identify the group and the purpose of this visit was a woman officer. She was also the only one in her uniform.
