1) Many of my friends and I have encountered INCOMPLETE parking receipts being issed to us when we pay the parking fee. Road tax disc number and car number plate are not being written down onto the parking receipt. Some parking attendants refused to issue parking receipts. When we request them to do so, they will give show us a very long face and grumbled.
2) Parking in front of Red Rock Hotel and along Gurney Drive (Night Time)
I was demanded to pay in RM2 (In front of Red Rock Hotel) and RM3 (Along Gurney Drive) as parking fee by those authorised MPPP parking attendant. Reason given by them were,"senang, pay in advance and you boleh park sampai besok pagi". Are they authorised to do so? I personally don't think they are authorised to do so. From what I understood if not mistaken, by right, they should issue the yellow invoice first and follow up with the issuance of receipt when we pay up the parking fee.
Just wondering, has the City Council now under the new CAT government put in any effort to improve the present current parking system? As far as I am concern, so far since 8th March, 2008, I haven't seen much improvement on the parking system as compared to during BN time. I personally think that it is high time that the MPPP seriously consider implementing the coupon parking system, similar to system implemented by MPSP or in Singapore. Yes, some (or even Gerakan) may argued that many parking attendants may be out of job due to this implementation. As the old saying goes, if you want to be paid well, please work properly. If you lose your job for not working properly, please do not blame others but yourself. Nobody is indispensable.

Traffic jam at Pulau Tikus Town, caused by inconsiderate motorists along both side of the Double Yellow Lined road and also in front of the Pulau Tikus Police Station. No action was taken against those inconsiderate motorists neither from the police nor City Council. Are those "vehicle clamping" sign for display only? Perhaps the City Council can enlighten us on this.

travelling along coastal highway from Bayan Lepas to town is smooth until the Jalan Magazine junction. required 2 traffic light change to pass through from 8 am to 8.45 am
caused by the double parking & illegal parking including the official cars for income tax audit along the Pengkalan Weld.
should make the whole stretch strictly non parking zone for both side of the road to ease the traffic flow.

I was crossing the road today with my baby at about 1300hrs & a car (LICENSE PLATE : PFN 2024) came up at high speed was just centimetres away from me without slowing down and even showed the middle finger at me. This is our 9 month here in Penang. I have experienced errant drivers from this place & I am very very upset about it. Should I go to the police every day?
My daughter was hit by a Myvi near YMCA who later just drove off.... Penang drivers do not have the courtesy to slow down when they see a pedestrian putting their foot down on the road to cross but instead they speed up at you.
Tell me citizens of Penang, what should expats like us do? We do not understand this aggression, this need to rush & speed on the road, this habit of over taking from the left sometimes right in front of your car & not to forget the drivers who do not respect zebra crossing even when I cross the road with my baby on the stroller.
Make us understand why many people in Penang are like this?
