I voted Freedom of Information Law, because that's where implementing a democracy that supports the weaker from the powerful starts.
Unfortunately Pg needs to do
Unfortunately Pg needs to do more than the "most important priority" all at once to restore some pride and progress back. Get rid of corruption which would also take care of 1) the local Govt issue 2) PGCC/PORR 3) open tender issues, clean up Pg and its beaches which would bring back more tourists and then improve the public transport system which will reduce costs, improve the local economy and make the city pleasant again asap. Three more suggestions are 1) What about bringing back the duty-free status? 2) Better planned and hygenic hawker centres and 3) Restoring Pg as a premier education and training centre? These are to promote the key tourism and manufacturing industries in Pg.
Indeed there are many
Indeed there are many issues out there waiting for the new state government in Penang to attend to-thus there is also a `others' option for those who see other issues as more important than the ones listed. The poll is intended to show to the new state government that the people are watching them just as they are given some `honey moon' period to get their act together. But `honey moon' can only last that long.

Congrats BK & friends on the
Congrats BK & friends on the setting up of Penang Watch! An elected local authority should be our major priority because it allows for the basic expression of democracy, a basic right taken away by the self-serving BN govt in the late 60s. We should press the PR govt to begin the motions of getting the project of elected local govt underway by first studying current legislation and its provisions. If it is possible for the state govt to use a loophole in the current legislation to have elections, then we should have them before before the 5-year term of PR runs out.
Reduce crime
Reduce crime
True: all the
True: all the corruption(economic crime), lack of open tender(economic crime!), lack of local govt(governance crimes!), lack of cleanliness, lack of FOI etc (governance crimes) are crimes which need reduction with a big parang!
If local PR government
If local PR government checklist with some reputable MNC on how and what tools they use to manage their Worldwide business successfully, it would be much more convincing to shut the Opposition up.
Example:-
1. Factory's Material supply chain management -cost-cutting methodology : can be used for Identification and Eradication of the Hardcore Poor systematically.
2. Petty criminals of Pen state : instead of having a jail-couch potato time, perhaps get them to value add by cleaning/planting/whitewashing/ up Penang, under the close supervision of jail-warden/Police.
3. A Balance Scorecard on ' Before and After PRU12 Improvements on Governance' Do be careful not to over inflate the ' After's -achievements' because the Rakyat are all educated, inteligent, discerning and has the memory of an elephant. Report only facts and figures.
4. For all those who are not cooperating with PR-government, publish on a Report card but make sure escalation process is fully exhausted. This report card must have a SWOT analysis on why PR wish to pursue that particular Rakyat benefitting cause.
When there are facts and figures on a PR-well thought out cause, I strongly believe that Rakyat will stand up to be counted to champion the project! I can be reached at my email to share if you feel its worth your time. I hold a Masters in Operations Managment and now my job is Housewife : ))
Most welcome your input and
Most welcome your input and offer to monitor PR state govt. Bring it on-you can send any material to penangwatch@gmail.com

Thanks BK, for your
Thanks BK, for your invite!
I have to clarify that I am UNABLE TO MONITOR as I do not have access into Primary Data to process and quantify the impact of changes made by the PR. I give input that ALL PR initiated improvements should be recorded and quantified on a monthly or quarterly on a Report Card for ALL to view instead of the current piece-meal improvements ( does not optimize the impact to readers! ). Somebody in PR govt got to do it.
maklumlah my laptop is not so powerful to run massive data as well ...... I am a housewife now (not desperado housewife though)
I tried sending a mail to your gmail but its 'hotmail-connex' failed. I will try again.
BTW-your 'About' tab - still carries the previous BN Govt, not current PR Govt.
Moms Day to all.
